IMAGINE YOURSELF FREE FROM ADDICTION!
Who Answers?

When it comes to drug addiction, we can make use of all the help we could get. This is because the problem has been very persistent for a very long time now. This has been affecting so many lives, especially that of the younger generation. Although there has been a lot of effort from the government and even private sectors, it seems like the problem is bigger than all of us.

However, this should not discourage us. Instead, make this as a challenge to help save more lives. And it is such a good thing that help is pouring in. Just like grants that can help recovery centers to save the lives of addicted people, especially those who want to quit and change for the better. With this help, aside from inspiring others to help as well, this can motivate addicts as they would know that help is always available for them.

WINCHESTER, Ky. (WKYT) – A grant is helping two different groups in Clark County, including one that aims to reach addicts by offering them help when they need it the most.

The toll addiction has taken in Winchester is similar to other towns across Kentucky. Amber Fields Hull knows that price first hand.

“I am a person in long-term recovery from drug addiction, heroin, all that good stuff. And I lost my husband five years ago to a drug overdose,” she said Sunday.

That experience makes her uniquely qualified to talk to people brought into Clark Regional Medical Center who have overdosed.

“We feel like it’s the most vulnerable time to follow up with them so hopefully, in that moment, they will have a change of heart and actually want the help that we are trying to offer,” she said.

Shes part of the group Achieving Recovery Together, or ART. Their “Angel Program” got a boost recently when the Greater Clark Foundation gave them a grant to help get addicts into rehab.

The influx of Fentanyl into the area means their work has to happen as soon as possible…
